Factory & Supply Chain

Planning, stock and cost on one set of records
across plants, warehouses and entities

Manufacturers compete on cost, quality and delivery while coordinating suppliers, plants and customers in several countries. Production, procurement, warehouse and finance work from one shared platform that InterCloud implements and integrates with the shop floor, so management sees events as they occur.

Challenges

Challenges in Manufacturing

  • Planning across plants and suppliers

Material requirements, capacity and lead times change daily. When planning is kept in spreadsheets, procurement orders more than necessary as a precaution and production still waits for parts.

  • Inventory accuracy

Raw materials, work in progress and finished goods across several warehouses and plants must be counted, valued and traced by lot or serial number, including goods held in bonded or free-zone facilities.

  • Quality records and traceability

Customers and auditors expect inspection records, non-conformance handling and lot genealogy from incoming material to shipped product, frequently in the format that a specific customer prescribes.

  • Costing based on actual consumption

Standard costs diverge from actual costs as material prices, yields and overtime change. Finance requires product costing that reconciles to real consumption and real labor hours.

How We Help

Plan, Produce and Cost From One Set of Records

Our Approach

Production Recorded as It Happens

An ERP that is updated after the event serves only as a reporting tool. We integrate GlowScale with your MES, machines, barcode and weighing systems so that production confirmations, material consumption and quality results are recorded as they occur.

Inventory is tracked by lot or serial number across warehouses, plants and subcontractors, which makes lot genealogy and customer-specific quality reports a by-product of normal operations.

Where a group operates several entities or countries, multi-company finance with intercompany transactions and local tax requirements keeps consolidation manageable.

  • MRP and production scheduling from current inventory and demand
  • Lot and serial traceability from receipt to shipment
  • Quality inspection and non-conformance handling within the process
  • Actual costing reconciled to real consumption and labor

Outcomes

Typical Outcomes

Manufacturers typically engage InterCloud to achieve the following outcomes.

  • Production planned from current inventory and demand data held in the ERP
  • Accurate stock figures across warehouses, plants and subcontractors
  • Lot genealogy and quality records produced on request for customers and auditors
  • Product costs that reflect actual material, yield and labor
  • Fewer line stoppages caused by failed integrations or missing data
  • Management visibility across plants and group companies in one dashboard

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you replace our MES or work alongside it?

In most cases we work alongside it. GlowScale handles planning, inventory, costing and finance and integrates with your MES or machine data through open REST APIs and standard interfaces. Where a plant has no MES, GlowScale's production confirmations can cover that function.

Can the platform handle several companies and countries?

Yes. Multi-company finance with intercompany transactions, multi-currency and country-specific tax and invoicing is part of GlowScale, and the platform is used by groups that operate in more than one country.

How long does an implementation take?

The duration depends on scope, the number of plants and the amount of integration involved. We phase implementations so that a first plant or module goes live early and the remainder follows, which avoids a single large cut-over.
