InterCloud

Distributors & Trading Companies

Orders, stock and purchasing
working from the same figures

Distributors and trading companies earn their margin on availability, price discipline and prompt delivery across thousands of items. InterCloud implements and operates the sales, inventory, purchasing and finance platform, and the online ordering channels around it, so that sales staff confirm an order knowing the stock, the price and the credit position of the customer.

Challenges

Challenges in Wholesale and Distribution

  • Large ranges in several warehouses

Thousands of items are held in several warehouses and in transit. When stock figures lag behind movements, orders are confirmed for goods that are not available.

  • Customer prices and credit

Price lists, discounts and credit terms differ by customer and by contract. Applying them by hand leads to disputes over invoices and to credit granted beyond its limit.

  • Purchasing and lead times

Suppliers have different lead times, minimum quantities and currencies. Buying too late loses sales, and buying too early ties up cash in stock.

  • Orders through many channels

Customers order through sales representatives, by telephone, by e-mail and online. Each channel that is handled separately adds re-keying and delays delivery.

How We Help

Confirm Every Order With Stock, Price and Credit Known

Our Approach

One Order Record From Quotation to Payment

A quotation becomes an order, a delivery and an invoice without being entered again. Stock is updated as the order moves through the warehouse, and the invoice appears in receivables when it is issued.

Orders from sales staff, the Customer Portal and e-commerce are handled in GlowScale under the same prices and credit rules. Other systems you use are connected through the integration hub, APIs and webhooks, with the scope agreed during the design phase.

InterCloud configures the platform to your price structure and warehouses, migrates items, customers and opening stock, trains the teams, and remains responsible for operation and support.

  • Quotations, orders, invoicing and receivables on one platform
  • Inventory and warehouse management across locations
  • Customer Portal and e-commerce for online ordering
  • Purchasing and supplier management with the Vendor Portal

Outcomes

What a Project Is Designed to Deliver

A project for a distributor or trading company is planned around the following outcomes.

  • Orders confirmed against current stock in every warehouse
  • Customer prices, discounts and credit terms applied by the system
  • Orders from sales staff, the portal and e-commerce handled in one platform
  • Purchasing planned from stock and sales figures that buyers trust
  • Invoices raised from deliveries without re-keying
  • Sales and stock reported by item, customer and warehouse
